Jonathan N. Katz develops statistical methods for the social sciences and applies them to elections, electoral systems, political economy, and political behavior.

He is Deputy Editor for Social Sciences at Science Advances and previously co-edited Political Analysis. He is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an inaugural fellow of the Society for Political Methodology, which gave him its Career Achievement Award in 2024.
